How to Use WazirX: Step by Step Beginners Guide

This is a step-by-step guide for beginners to get started with cryptocurrency trading on WazirX.

What is WazirX

WazirX is a leading cryptocurrency exchange from India equipped with an advanced trading interface that allows users to easily trade and invest in a diverse range of cryptocurrencies through fiat.

How to Complete Registration, 2FA Configuration, and KYC Verification in WazirX

Before you begin your cryptocurrency trading journey on WazirX, it is important to open an account by completing the registration process first. All you have to do is follow the steps outlined below.

How to Complete Registration in WazirX

Step 1: Launch your browser and visit the URL https://wazirx.com/.

Step 2: Click on the signup button at the top right corner of the web page.

Step 3: You will be redirected to the registration page, where you will need to enter your email address and password. Make sure to check and agree with WazirX’s Terms of Service before hitting the signup button.

Note: It is recommended to set an alphanumeric password which is difficult to decode.

After hitting the signup button, you will receive a verification request in your email’s inbox.

Step 4: Log in to your email account and open the email requesting verification from WazirX. Hit the VERIFY EMAIL button.

Note: Verification email is valid for only 15 minutes

 

Step 5: After hitting the VERIFY EMAIL button, you will be redirected back to the WazirX web page with a message confirming the verification.

Click on the Continue button to complete the email verification.

How to Complete 2FA Configuration in WazirX

After completing the email verification, you will need to complete the 2FA (two-factor authentication) configuration for activating enhanced security.

You can either select Authenticator App (Highly Secure) or Mobile SMS (Moderately Secure). If you want to complete setting up 2FA later, then select None.

Using Authenticator App

Step 1: Select the Authenticator App option (to complete the 2FA configuration through the authenticator app) while completing the registration process.

Step 2: A modal window will appear that will request you to scan the unique QR code through Google Authenticator or Authy.

Note: Alternatively, you can copy the 16-character alpha-numeric code and directly paste it into the authenticator app.

Click on the Next button after scanning the QR code or pasting the code into the authenticator app.

Step 3: Enter the code generated in your Authenticator App and hit the Next button.

Step 4: Your 2FA shall be set to the Authenticator App. Hit the Okay button once done.

Step 5: Select your Country from the first dropdown and then select the type of KYC (Personal or Company) from the second dropdown.

Mobile SMS

You can also select the Mobile SMS option during the 2FA configuration process while completing the registration.

Step 1: Click on the Mobile SMS option to complete the 2FA configuration through mobile.

Step 2: A modal window will appear that will request you to provide your mobile phone number. Click on the Send OTP button after providing your mobile phone number.

Step 3: Enter the OTP sent to your mobile phone and hit the Next button.

Step 4: Your 2FA shall be set to the Mobile phone. Hit the Okay button once done.

Step 5: Select your Country from the first dropdown and then select the type of KYC (Personal or Company) from the second dropdown.

How to Complete KYC Verification in WazirX

To start using the platform, you can proceed with KYC or without KYC while completing the registration and 2FA.

If you click on the SKIP FOR NOW button appearing under the head – WITHOUT KYC, then you will be redirected to the trading terminal of WazirX.

If you click on the COMPLETE KYC button, then you will need to fill up the following Personal Information in the form:

Personal Info

• First Name*
• Middle Name
• Last Name
• Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY)*
• Address*
• State*
• City*
• Pin/Zip Code*

Pan Card

• Pan Number*
• Re-Enter Pan Number*

You will also need to upload the digital copy of your PAN card in JPEG or PNG format.

 

Document Type

Select a Document Type from the dropdown – Aadhaar, Passport, or Driving License.

Note: For this documentation purpose, Aadhaar Card has been selected as the Document Type.

After that, you will need to enter the Aadhaar Card number two times (If Aadhaar Card has been selected)

To proceed further, you will need to upload the front side as well as the backside of the Aadhar Card either in JPEG or PNG format.

Selfie

The last step in the KYC process involves uploading a selfie while holding your Aadhaar Card. The photo should be in JPEG or PNG format.

Submission

After filling in all the details and uploading all the documents, you can submit your application for KYC verification by hitting SUBMIT FOR VERIFICATION BUTTON.

You will be redirected to the new page that would confirm the receipt of your KYC details.

NOTE: Usually, it takes just a few minutes to complete the verification, but in certain cases, it may take up to 2-3 business days.

Once your KYC is verified after a few minutes, you will receive a message of approval on the screen. So now, you can simply click on the Start Trading button to explore the cryptocurrency markets and place your bets via WazirX.

 

2FA Setup, Change, and Recovery in WazirX

If you have skipped setting up 2FA during the registration, then you can configure it again. You can also change the 2FA method and seek recovery.

How to Setup 2FA in WazirX

Step 1: Launch WazirX on your browser and sign in with your email ID and Password.

Step 2: Click on your profile button at the top right corner of the interface and select the account setting from the dropdown.

Step 3: In the Account Settings, select the Two Factor Authentication from the left-sidebar.

Step 4: Select the type of 2FA option you wish to proceed with. You can select either Authenticator App or Mobile SMS.

Now follow the same steps as outlined under the 2FA configuration in the Registration, 2FA Configuration, and KYC Verification section above.

How to Change 2FA in WazirX

You can change your 2FA method anytime from an App-based 2FA to an SMS/Email OTP-based 2FA.

Step 1: Launch WazirX on your browser and sign in with your email ID and Password.

Step 2: Click on your profile button at the top right corner of the interface and select the account setting from the dropdown.

Step 3: In the Account Settings, select the Two Factor Authentication from the left-sidebar.

Step 4: If you have configured the Authenticator App for 2FA, then you can switch to Mobile SMS.
To do the same, click on the Mobile SMS option under the Two Factor Authentication head.

Step 5: A modal window will appear on the interface requesting you to enter the code generated in your Authenticator App. Hit the Next button after entering the code.

Step 6: Check your email inbox and click on Approve 2FA request in the confirmation email received.

This will change your 2FA method from Authenticator App to Mobile SMS. You can do the vice-versa also anytime you want.

How to Recover 2FA in WazirX

If you have lost your authenticator app for any reason, then you can always reset or recover your WazirX 2FA.

There can be two possible cases:

Case 1: You have the Recovery Code

Step 1: If you have the recovery code, then you can simply visit https://wazirx.com/login, enter your sign-in credentials, and click on the login.

Step 2: A modal window will appear on the interface requesting you to enter the code generated in your Authenticator App.

Since you don’t have the code, click on the Recover Authentication Code button below.

Step 3: A new modal window will appear on the interface where you can enter your recovery code and hit the Recover button. In this way, you will recover your 2FA.

Case 2: You don’t have the Recovery Code

Repeat Step 1 and Step 2 as outlined in Case 1 above.

How to Deposit INR to WazirX Account

It is easy to deposit INR to your WazirX account to get started with cryptocurrency trading and investment. Follow the steps outlined below:

Step 1: Log in to your WazirX account and click on the Funds from the top bar.

Step 2: You will be redirected to the funds page. Click on the Deposit button under Rupee (INR).

Step 3: You will be redirected to the new page to select the mode for making an INR deposit. You can proceed with:

• Instant Deposit
• Instant Deposit with UPI (Option 1)
• Instant Deposit with UPI (Option 2)

Note: We have selected the first option (INSTANT DEPOSIT)

Step 4: Link your bank account by entering your Bank Details from which you wish to deposit the funds. Click on the Submit button once done.

Note: The Name you enter MUST match the Name on your WazirX account.

A final confirmation pop-up shall appear on the screen. Click on the YES, SAVE IT option.

Step 5: You will be requested to enter the code generated in your Authenticator App. Enter the code and hit the Authenticate button.

You will have to wait before the bank account verification process gets completed. Once it is done, then simply copy the WazirX Bank Details (Beneficiary Name, Bank Name, Account Number, IFSC Code, and Account Type) and paste them into your Net Banking Platform to process the transfer of INR (Instant Deposit) to your WazirX Bank via IMPS/NEFT/RTGS.

Note: The deposit into your WazirX Bank account shall be reflected/credited within an hour, but in a few cases, it might also take around 72 working hours (maximum).

Step 6: Alternatively, you can also deposit the funds via UPI. Repeat steps 1, Step 2, and Step 3 but this time, select the UPI option to deposit the INR to your WazirX account.

Step 7: Enter your UPI ID to link the same with WazirX.

Note: Your WazirX account name and the Name in the UPI Banking system should be the same.

Step 8: After the completion of the verification, you can enter the amount you wish to deposit and proceed next.

Note: You can check your UPI app (for deposit request) and complete the transaction, and the deposit will be made to WazirX near instantly. It takes a couple of hours before the deposit is reflected/credited in WazirX.

How to Withdraw INR from WazirX Account

It is easy to withdraw INR from your WazirX account and transfer it back to your linked bank account by following the steps as outlined below:

Step 1: Log in to your WazirX account and click on the Funds from the top bar.

Step 2: You will be redirected to the funds’ page. Click on the Withdraw button under Rupee (INR).

Step 3: You can select either of the two options for INR withdrawal, i.e., Instant Withdrawal (Recommended) or NEFT withdrawal.

For this documentation, we have selected the Instant Withdrawal option.

Note: You cannot make the withdrawal if your Bank account is not connected to WazirX yet.

Step 4: Now enter the amount & optional remarks and tap on the Withdraw button.

How to Withdraw Cryptocurrency from WazirX Account

It is easy to withdraw cryptocurrency from your WazirX account and transfer it back to your wallet by following the steps outlined below:

Step 1: Log in to your WazirX account and click on the Funds from the top bar.

Step 2: You will be redirected to the funds’ page. Select the coin you wish to withdraw and then click on the Withdraw button appearing under the same.

Note: For this documentation, we have selected BTC to withdraw.

Step 3: You will be redirected to the new page, where you will be required to enter the three details (Volume, Destination Address, and Remarks) to complete the withdrawal process.

Volume

Enter the volume, i.e., the quantity of the cryptocurrency you wish to withdraw from WazirX.

Note: You can click on the “Withdraw All” if you wish to move the entire coin balance from WazirX.

Destination Address

Enter the destination address of your wallet.

Note: Please ensure to double-verify the destination address of your wallet.

Remarks

You can enter any remarks for your reference.

Note: The remarks shall be visible on your WazirX and not on the receiving account or wallet.

Step 4: After entering all the three details, hit on the PROCEED WITH WITHDRAWAL button.

Step 5: An OTP (One Time Password) shall be sent to your mobile. You will need to enter this OTP and click on the Confirm button.

Step 6: You will need to check your email inbox and click on the Approve this withdrawal button in the confirmation email received from WazirX.

How to Connect and Transfer Funds between WazirX and Binance

The deep integration between WazirX and Binance helps users quickly move funds from your WazirX Wallet to the Binance Exchange, The biggest and probably best crypto exchange out there and vice versa internally without paying any single penny.

Note: Transfer of the funds is possible only if you have successfully connected your Binance account with WazirX. You can refer to the official documentation of WazirX for the same.

How to Transfer Funds from WazirX to Binance

Step 1: Log in to your WazirX account and click on the Funds from the top bar.

Step 2: You will be redirected to the funds page, where you can click on the Transfer funds to Binance option appearing at the top of the interface.

Step 3: A modal window will appear on the interface to help you make the transfer from WazirX to Binance.

Select the type of cryptocurrency you want to transfer, like Tether USD, and enter the amount. Once done, then hit on the TRANSFER TO BINANCE button.

Note: The transfer is free of cost!

How to Transfer Funds from Binance to WazirX

Step 1: Log in to your Binance account, click on the Wallet from the top bar, and select Overview from the dropdown.

Step 2: Click on WazirX from the left sidebar.

Step 3: A modal window will appear on the interface to help you make the transfer from Binance to WazirX.

Select the type of cryptocurrency you want to transfer, like Tether USD, and enter the amount. Once done, then hit on the Confirm Transfer button.

NOTE: The transfer is free of cost!

 

How to Sell Cryptocurrency on WazirX

Once you have the cryptocurrencies in your WazirX, you can visit various INR markets like ETH/INR and make the Sell order.

For example, if you want to sell the Bitcoin from your holdings, then you can kick off by following the steps as outlined below:

Step 1: Navigate to the BTC/INR market – https://wazirx.com/exchange/BTC-INR

Step 2: Select the Sell tab.

Step 3: You will need to enter the amount and the rate at which you wish to sell your Bitcoins.

Step 4: Click on the SELL BTC button, and your Order shall be processed according to the order matching process, and you will gain INR in your fund.

How to Buy Cryptocurrency on WazirX

It is easy to buy cryptocurrencies, but you will have to deposit INR into your WazirX account (as already discussed above).

For example, if you want to buy the Bitcoin from your INR deposits, then you can kick off by following the steps as outlined below:

Step 1: Navigate to the BTC/INR market – https://wazirx.com/exchange/BTC-INR

Step 2: Select the Buy tab.

Step 3: You will need to enter the desired price in INR and the amount of cryptocurrency you want to buy.

Step 4: Click on the BUY BTC button, and your Order shall be processed.
