How to Connect MetaMask to Ledger Nano X
The team at CoinGyan suggest Ledger Nano X over Nano S because the former has extra storage options, and it is also better for mobile devices because of the Bluetooth connectivity option and a bigger screen. Not to forget that it is the second generation of Ledger wallet.
Step 1: Click on the MetaMask extension from the top right corner of the browser.
Step 2: Click on the profile icon and select the Connect Hardware Wallet options from the drop-down.
Step 3: Select Ledger and click on the Connect button.
Note: Please ensure that your Ledger is connected with your device before you hit the Connect button.
Step 4: Select the address and click on the unlock button.
You can now check your Ledger hardware wallet account and can use it for any BEP20 transactions on the BSC chain as well as DeFi platforms like PancakeSwap.
Note: The address where your coins are held is provided by the Ledger Nano X and not MetaMask. You will have the same address if you will connect MetaMask to other wallets that support Binance Smart Chain.
How to Send BEP20 Tokens To Your MetaMask Wallet
The BEP20 represents the token standard on the Binance Smart Chain developed with an objective to extend the scope of ERC 20 tokens (most common Ethereum standard token).
Step 1: Navigate to the BscScan and find out the contract number of the specific BEP20 token you want to send.
Note: You can check out the complete list of the BEP20 tokens here – https://bscscan.com/tokens
For example, if you want to send ETH, then you can click on the Binance-Peg Ethereum Token (ETH) and copy the contract address as appearing under the Profile Summary.
Contract Address for ETH – 0x2170ed0880ac9a755fd29b2688956bd959f933f8
Step 2: Go to MetaMask and click on the Add Token button.
Step 3: Enter the token contract address in the field {Binance-Peg Ethereum Token (ETH)} in this case. The token symbol and decimal of precision shall be fetched automatically from the smart contract.
Once the information is fetched, then you can click on Next and add your token to MetaMask.
Step 4: Click on the Add Tokens button, and you will see ETH added to your MetaMask.
